There were 60 people present at the April Membership
meeting. Support YOUR club!
When you come out to the club for any event,
make sure you sign the membership book located inside of the back room of the
club. The club by-laws require you as a member to sign the book at least 12
times per year.
There is a new board with a suggestion box above the shelf where the
sign-in book is located. Put any suggestions in the box for things you would
like to see done around the club.
Club Work Party April 28th
There
will be a club work party held Saturday April 28th starting at 9:00
AM. Help is needed to perform maintenance tasks in many areas of the club
grounds. Contact Tony Grant @ 734-439-7802 for more information. Now is the
time of the year to get your work hours in. The more people that come out, the
more that will get done.

Annual Mexican Fiesta Dinner May 5th *****
Dennis and Rebecca Williams
will host the 8th annual Mexican Fiesta Dinner May 5th
starting at 6:00 PM. The cost per meal
is $10.00. If you missed the dinner last year, you missed
an “OUTSTANDING DINNER” and a fantastic time!!! Dennis and Rebecca put a lot of effort into the preparation of the

Gun-A-Day
Raffle
The tickets are in for the
Gun-A-Day Raffle that will start in June. There are 700 plus tickets out and the money and stubs have been rolling
in. Art still has a little fewer than 300 tickets to be sold. The ticket stubs
and money or unsold tickets need to be turned in no latter than the May 17th

Varmint
Shoot May 5th
The Varmint Shoot will be

Steak Roast May
12th
Scott
Klostermeier and Scott Wipple will host the May 12th Steak Roast. Help is always needed. 100 steaks will
be purchased for the next dinner. The April steak roast was hosted by Steve
Caplinger, John Little, and DJ. 95
Dinners were sold at the April steak roast. Thanks to Steve Caplinger, John Little, DJ, and all of the other
helpers that made the April steak roast a success. For new members in the club,
a steak roast is not hard to host or to help with and it is an easy way to get
your work hours in. The cost of a Steak Dinner is $13.00. If you can host a
Steak Roast or wish to help with one, please contact Dennis Williams @
734-467-5282 and let him know that you would like to help out. If you are bringing extra people to the steak
roast, please call Dennis and let him know. We came up short of steaks at the
April steak roast due to a couple of large un-announced groups coming in. Come out and
support YOUR club!

30-3D Archery
Shoot April 15th
There
were 34 archers at the 30-3D archery shoot held at Maybee Sportsman Club on
Sunday April 15th. This was an Archery Travel League shoot.
MCCC Traveling
Trap League
We are
now in 4th place in the MCCC Traveling Trap League. The next shoot
will be at
Wayne
County on Sunday May 13th. On
June 10th we will shoot at
Ottawa
Lake
and on June 17th we will shoot at Monroe Rod & Gun. Come out and
shoot to support your club!
Concealed Pistol License Class May 19th
and May 20th
There are still 9 openings
for the concealed pistol license class to be held on Saturday May 19th
and Sunday May 20th at the club. You must attend both days to get your certificate. Saturday May 19th
will be classroom instruction from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Sunday May 20th
will be live fire on the range from 9:30 AM to12:30 PM and 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
You MUST own your own pistol to take this class. The cost is $100.00 for non-members of the
Maybee Sportsman Club and $50.00 for members of the Maybee Sportsman Club. A simple lunch will be available for a fee.

Military
Rifle Shoot May 12th
Starting in April and through
October there will be two Military Rifle Shoots each month. The Saturday shoot
at 5:00 PM before the steak roast will continue. Contact Dennis Sisung @
734-654-9747 for details. The Tuesday evening Military Rifle Shoot will be held
Tuesday May 29th at 6:00 PM until finished. Watch the calendar for any change in dates or times. The fee for the Military Rifle Shoot
is $5.00 for club members and $6.00 for non-members with prize money paid. Any Military Rifle is allowed. The rifle used must be stock, open sights,
and unmodified. We shoot 20 rounds of rifle and 5 rounds of handgun. The
handgun must be stock with open sights and may be any caliber. Handgun is 5
shots @ 25 yards. Rifle is 10 rounds @ 50 yards and 10 rounds @ 100 yards on
the rail or prone. We would like more shooters to participate. Contact Dave Rochon @ 734-461-6090, John

Welcome New
Members
The membership voted on 5 persons for Associate
membership and 2 persons for Junior membership in the Maybee Sportsman Club.
The Associate applicants were Chris Gibson Jr., Ben Hershberger, Timothy
Hufford, John McLaughlin, and Joe Wood. The Junior applicants were Payton Zorn
and Holden Zorn. Come out, meet the
members, and participate in club activities such as Archery, Trap, Varmint
shoot, and our famous Steak Roast Dinners.

Carlton Beer Shoot March
24th
The annual beer shoot against
Carleton Sportsman Club held Saturday March 24th was not kind to The
Maybee Sportsman Club. We were the
losing club that paid for the beer!

Apparel
Club
apparel is in the showcase! Martin Okkerse is the contact person for club
apparel. Decals of the club logo are now
available for $6.00. A good stock of shirts from Medium to 2XL is on hand. There are also 2 Extra Large jackets in
stock. See the club website for pricing on club apparel. Contact Martin Okkerse
before 8:00 PM at 734-587-3566 or see him at the Membership meetings to order
shirts, hats, jackets, or any other items that you may want embroidered with
the club logo. There is a price list posted at the showcase.
Sponsoring
New Members
When
you sponsor new members, remember the dues are $80.00 per year and the
initiation fee is $100.00 ($180.00 total). Make sure their money is included with their application and that the
prospective new members know that they “MUST WORK” their hours the first year of membership. Applicants
for Associate membership should show up at the meeting when they are being
voted into the club or have a good reason why they can’t be there.
