This is a reminder to all members. The bar is closed on meeting night from 7:30 PM until the completion of the membership meeting. If you can’t get to the meeting on time then you will have to wait until the meeting is over to get a refreshment.

Annual Carleton Beer Shoot March 27^th

The annual beer shoot against Carleton Sportsman Club will be held Saturday March 27^th (NOTE THE NEW DATE) from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Maybee Sportsman Club.  For details, contact Doug Gilson @ 734-645-5231.  Come out and shoot for the Maybee Sportsman Club.  The losing club pays for the beer!  Shoot good to help keep the “losers” trophy where it belongs at Carleton Sportsman Club.

6^th Annual Wild Game Dinner for 2010

The 6^th Annual Maybee Sportsman Club Wild Game Dinner held on Saturday February 27^th, 2010 was a huge success. The tickets were sold out long before the dinner. A very special “THANK YOU” goes out to Mike Jaworski and all of the other people that helped with the dinner and made it a fantastic event.  A GREAT time was had by all that attended.

Sad News

Life member Russ Kiebler has passed away.  Our sympathy goes out to Russ’ family.

30-3D Archery Shoot At Maybee Sportsman

There will be a 30-3D Archery Shoot at Maybee Sportsman Sunday April 18^th from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Help is needed Saturday April 17^th for setup from 12:00 Noon until done. Help is also needed Sunday during the shoot and at the end of the shoot to pick up the targets and put them away. We had 75 shooters for the March 14^th 30-3D Archery shoot. Spring Archery League Starts Sunday April 11^th

The Spring Archery League Starts Sunday evening April 11^th at 6:00 PM.  The cost is $20.00 per person.  The league will shoot on Sunday evening. They will shoot 15-3D targets each evening. Steak Roast April 10^th

Dave Ammerman, Joe Kane, and John Little will host the April 10^th Steak Roast. Help is always needed. 80 steaks will be purchased for the next dinner.  Everyone is invited out to have a good time. The March 13^th steak roast was hosted by James Vincent, James Vincent jr. and David Vincent. The March dinner sold 95 dinners.  Thanks to James Vincent, James Vincent jr. David Vincent, and all of the other helpers that made the March steak roast a success.  The cost of a Steak Dinner is now $13.00.  If you can host a Steak Roast or wish to help with one, please contact Dennis Williams @ 734-467-5282 and let him know that you would like to help out.  If you are bringing a large group to the steak roast, contact Dennis Williams and let him know so that he may get extra steaks.  Come out and support YOUR club! 

Varmint Shoot April 3^rd

MCCC Traveling Trap League

The Maybee Sportsman Club is still in 8^th place in the MCCC traveling trap league by one bird. Only a miracle will bring us back from this disaster.  Our next shoot is April 11^th at Brest Bay.  Come out and shoot to have a good time.

Concealed Pistol License Class May 8^th      

There are still openings for the concealed pistol license class to be held on Saturday May 8^th and Sunday May 9^th at the club.  You must attend both days to get your certificate. Saturday the 8^th will be classroom instruction from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Sunday the 9^th will be live fire on the range from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You MUST own your own pistol to take this class.  The cost is $100.00 for non-members of the Maybee Sportsman Club and $50.00 for members of the Maybee Sportsman Club.  A simple lunch will be available for a fee. 30-3D Archery Traveling League

The Maybee Sportsman Club is in 3^rd place in the archery travel league. The Archery Traveling League will shoot at Dundee April 25^th, Maybee Sportsman June 6^th, Monroe Rod & Gun August 1^st, Carleton Sportsman May 16^th and August 15^th, and Canvasback gun club April 11^th and May 2^nd. Military Rifle Shoot Tuesday April 27^th  

The next Military Rifle Shoot will be held Tuesday April 27^th at 6:00 PM until finished.  Starting in April, and ending in October, the Military Rifle Shoot will be held at 6:00 PM the LAST Tuesday of the month. Watch the calendar for any change in dates or times.  The fee for the Military Rifle Shoot is $5.00 for club members and $6.00 for non-members with prize money paid.  Any Military Rifle is allowed.  The rifle used must be stock, open sights, and unmodified. We shoot 20 rounds of rifle and 5 rounds of handgun. The handgun must be stock with open sights and may be any caliber. Handgun is 5 shots @ 25 yards. Rifle is 10 rounds@ 50 yards and 10 rounds @ 100 yards on the rail or prone. 4H Junior Travel Trap League

The 4H Junior Travel Trap League will shoot at Brest Bay Sportsman Club, March 27^th at Carleton Sportsman Club and April 24^th is the banquet and fun shoot at Monroe Rod & Gun.

NRA Range Safety Officer Certification Class May 15^th

There will be a range officer training class held May 15^th. The cost is $50.00 for members of the NRA and $60.00 for non-members of the NRA. There is a sign up sheet posted on the bulletin board at the club. The deadline to sign up is April 30^th. If you sign up, also call Donn Wobser and let him know that you are interested. Welcome new members

We would like to welcome 2 new Associate members to the Maybee Sportsman Club.  They are associate members Walter Parks and Bob Sykes.  Come out, meet the members, and participate in club activities such as Archery, Trap, Varmint League, and our famous Steak Roast Dinners.

Club Apparel

Club apparel is in the NEW showcase!  Tony Grant has built a very nice showcase to display the club apparel. Martin Okkerse has taken over the duties of club apparel.  A stock of shirts will be on hand in several sizes shortly.  Contact Martin Okkerse before 8:00 PM at 734-587-3566 or see him at the Membership meetings to order shirts, hats, jackets, or any other items that you may want embroidered with the club logo. There will also be a price list posted at the showcase so that the prices of items on hand will no longer be a mystery.

Sponsoring New Members

When you sponsor new members, remember the dues are $80.00 per year and the initiation fee is $100.00 (NOTE THE NEW RATE) ($180.00 total).  Make sure their money is included with their application and that the prospective new members know that they “MUST WORK” their hours the first year of membership. Applicants for Associate membership should show up at the meeting when they are being voted into the club or have a good reason why they can’t be there.
